Kerith Counselling Service

BACP Supervision

Supervision is a professional requirement for all counsellors. Its purpose is to assist counsellors to operate within ethical guidelines and good practice.

Case work is taken to a more experienced counsellor with special training in Supervision. BACP requires this to be done once every four weeks for a minimum of one and a half hours.

All the cases are anonymous and identified by code or initials only. The case work is discussed with the sole aim of providing a safe, skilled and professional environment for the client.

Kerith Counselling service provides monthly group supervision for its counsellors, led by a trained and experienced supervisor. Several of the counsellors also attend one to one external supervision as part of their own professional development.
