Ophelia Hughes-Lartey
As a medical doctor who took early retirement in laboratory medicine in 1998, I wanted to practice counselling as a healing vocation which promotes the well-being of the whole person.
I went on to obtain an Honours degree in Psychology at the Open University and Diploma in Counselling at Waverley Abbey House, Farnham, Surrey. The Waverley model (5 circles) is an integrative model of psychodynamic, rational emotive behavioural therapy and aspects of spiritually attuned counselling. It looks at the physical, emotional, rational, volitional and spiritual areas of human functioning. It is suitable for both non-Christians and Christians.
I am a mother of three sons, wife, love reading, music and travel.
